2 x Pioneer PLX-CRSS12 + DJM-S11 – The Hybrid Turntablist Rig

The PLX-CRSS12 plays records and also controls digital files with no tonearm at all, through its MAGVEL CLAMP. Two of them with the DJM-S11 battle mixer make the current top-level scratch setup; Ortofon Concorde Scratch MK2 cartridges cover the vinyl side.

In This Setup

  • Pioneer PLX-CRSS12 (2 units) – hybrid turntable with analogue playback and tonearm-free DVS control via MAGVEL CLAMP, MIDI-mappable pads and high-torque direct-drive motor.
  • Pioneer DJM-S11 – flagship 2-channel battle mixer with Magvel Fader Pro, touch display, Scratch Bank and Deck 3/4 control; Serato and rekordbox, dual USB-B for laptop changeovers.
  • Ortofon Concorde Scratch MK2 (2 pcs + case) – two 10 mV cartridges with spherical stylus for heavy back-cueing, in a protective case.
